Isabel Vera
Expert in intercultural tourism and communication, committed to cooperation between European islands and the promotion of international relations based on dialogue, cultural exchange and the valorization of island territories.
Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, since I was a child I have cultivated a deep passion for diversity: traveling, meeting people from distant cultures and discovering new worlds. This love for discovering others has pushed me to study International Tourism, a field in which I have worked with passion and enthusiasm for about thirty years.
For over twenty years I have lived in the beautiful Sardinia, where I have built my family and consolidated my professional path, always maintaining a deep bond with my Canarian roots.
Today, combining passion and profession, I have given life to the project of my life: Islas del Mar - an initiative that comes from my heart and from the heart of the islands, and that looks to the European horizon. The islands of every sea, the islands of Europe.
The project is promoted by EURINSULA, the association that I founded and that I preside, with the aim of strengthening cultural, economic and tourist cooperation between the European islands.
Ambassador of the Islands of Europe of the Islas del Mar project, spokesperson of an ideal archipelago made of connections, shared values and island identities that want to dialogue, grow and shine together.
MY MISSION
I feel like a European islander: the Atlantic and the Mediterranean flow in my veins.
To make sense of this separation of island identity, divided between different islands and seas, the Canary Islands and Sardinia, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, I designed my project, which summarizes my personal and professional life. And mending this rift, I found a big house, the identity of a European islander.
This has given a new meaning to my life:
To unite my heart, to unite what the sea separates and to be able to transform this obstacle into an immense and wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange for me and for anyone who wants to share this with me exciting adventure.

Islas del Mar
Islas del Mar Project aims to unite island diversities, culture, history, archeology and traditions of the islands, to transform them into models of discovery, learning, discussion , from which arises a real intercultural exchange. This also leads to individual enrichment, because the discovery of the other offers the opportunity to get to know ourselves better, promoting our emotional well-being.
Before promoting the territory, however, it is necessary to know it, respect it, love it: in other words, value it. Only then can tourism, a key factor, create truly intercultural exchanges.
